Meta's Llama Incubator Program Accelerates AI Adoption for Startups and SMEs in Singapore
Empowering Local Startups and SMEs Through Open Source AI

Singapore has unveiled its latest initiative in AI innovation: the Llama Incubator Program. This collaboration involves Meta, Enterprise Singapore, IMDA, GovTech, SGInnovate, AI Singapore, and Deloitte, with program coordination supported by e27. The Incubator aims to help 40 digitally ready startups and SMEs enhance their products and operations using open source AI technology, in line with Singapore’s Digital Enterprise blueprint.
Why Llama
Llama is an open source large language model developed by Meta that enables fast, cost effective deployment of AI solutions. Businesses accepted into the Incubator will use Llama to create or refine prototypes, improve workflows, and unlock new market opportunities.
Two Dedicated Tracks
Startup Track
Designed for young ventures looking to develop AI driven MVPs. Participants receive access to Llama based technical resources, along with expert mentorship and guidance on go to market strategies.
SME Track
Created for established SMEs exploring AI adoption. Participants learn how to integrate and customize Llama models for their specific needs, ultimately enhancing day to day operations and competitiveness.
Key Milestones and Dates
Call for Applications: Now through March 6, 2025
Foundational Workshop: March 13 to 14, 2025
Incubation Period: April 14 to October 3, 2025
Demo Day: October 15, 2025
Showcase at SWITCH: October 29 to 31, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
Startups
Incorporated and operating in Singapore for at least one year
Minimum of SGD 250,000 in secured funding
Launched product with early traction
Demonstrated tech capabilities and experience integrating technology solutions
SMEs
Incorporated and operating in Singapore for at least three years
Revenue under SGD 100 million with fewer than 200 employees
A clear AI use case with leadership backing and a dedicated budget
No prior AI experience required, but must demonstrate strong commitment to AI adoption
Selection Factors
Digital Readiness
Applicants should show they are prepared to develop AI solutions, in house or with partner support.
Business Applicability
Proposals should address specific operational challenges or customer needs.
Technical Feasibility and Innovation
Solutions must leverage Llama’s capabilities to deliver scalable, advanced functionality.
Safety and Responsibility
Participants must prioritize data privacy, user safety, and responsible AI practices.
How to Apply
Submit a proposal by March 6, 2025. Shortlisted participants will attend a foundational workshop in mid March, with final selections announced in early April. The 20 to 24 week Incubation runs from April to October, culminating in a Demo Day and a showcase at SWITCH.
